The Story Behind The Music Place <3
Music changed my life. I want every kid to experience what it can do for theirs.
I started teaching music when I was 16. What began with a handful of students eventually grew into a music academy, a team of teachers, hundreds of students, and a space of my own.
Over the years, I learned a lot about music, teaching, and kids.
Ten years of teaching music taught me that there isn't one right way to learn it.
Some kids love to practice. Some don't.
Some want to perform. Some just want to play.
Some thrive with structure. Others need room to experiment.
And some kids don't think they're musical at all—until they actually get the chance to play.
That's where The Music Place began.
I wanted to create a place where kids could be musicians from day one.
Where they could play real instruments, learn real songs, make mistakes, create something together, and have fun while they're learning.
Music was a huge part of my own childhood. As a teenager, it became a place for me to escape, express myself, and have fun. But I also remember wishing I had more opportunities to make music with other people instead of always practicing alone.
That has stayed with me.
What I hope music becomes
To me, it's not about how quickly a child progresses or how perfectly they play.
It's about building a positive relationship with music that becomes part of their life.
Music can help kids build confidence, creativity, focus, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and connection with others. But more than anything, I want them to experience the joy of making music.
That's why The Music Place isn't about creating perfect musicians.
It's about giving kids a fun, accessible way to experience music, discover what they're capable of, and want to keep making music.
What I Believe
Playing is part of learning.
You don't have to master something before you're allowed to play.
Creating is part of growth.
Music gives kids a chance to experiment, express themselves, solve problems, and create something of their own.
Music is for everyone.
You don't have to be naturally talented. You don't have to know what you're doing.
You just need a place that believes in you and makes you want to play.
A Different Kind of Music Experience
The Music Place is for the kid who loves music but isn't sure they're "musical."
It's for the kid who wants to try something new.
It's for the kid who needs a place to build confidence.
It's for the kid who would rather make music than spend weeks preparing to make music.
And it's for families who believe music should be something kids want to do, not something they have to be convinced to do.
Because I don't think kids should have to wait until they're "good enough" to experience the joy of being a musician.
They can start from day one.
That's what The Music Place is all about, and I can’t wait to welcome your family.
