PLAY LOUD.
PLAY TOGETHER.
BECOME A MUSICIAN.
Group drum classes for kids ages 6–12. From the very first class, they're playing real songs on a real drum kit, with other kids.
One class. Room for every kind of kid.
Never played an instrument
This is the easiest place to start. No experience, no expectations — just a real drum kit and permission to explore it for the first time.
Tried lessons before, and it didn't click
Some kids don't take to note-by-note instruction first — they need to play before they learn the "why." TMP starts at the drums, not the sheet music.
Already takes lessons
TMP isn't a replacement for lessons — it's the part lessons usually don't include: playing real songs, in a group, with other kids, out loud.
Kids don't wait to become musicians. They start by making music.
Every child has their own real drum kit for the entire 45-minute class — playing real songs from artists they already know.
Kids learn fundamentals hands-on, then put them into practice immediately: learn, play, apply, experiment, build confidence, learn more.
Different experience levels, one shared musical experience — kids build confidence by making music with other kids, not alone.
What if it isn't the right fit?
I want your child to feel happy, engaged, and excited to be here. If they aren't by the end of their second class, I'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.
Why I created The Music Place
I started teaching music at 16, and I've watched hundreds of kids walk through my doors since. I kept seeing the same thing: excitement turning into frustration the moment learning became about keeping up or following one path. So I built something different — a place where kids feel like musicians from day one.— Vicki Weaver, Founder, The Music Place
